Why is it RED? 🤔 Exploring Malta 🇲🇹🌍 Saint Agatha's Tower on the island of Malta is just one of several defensive watchtowers built all along the coastline of the Maltese islands. 🤩 This one in particular overlooks Għadira Bay beneath it, as well as the sister islands of Comino and Gozo in the distance. Because of this, the tower needed to not only be formidable looking and visible, but to dominate the landscape; communicating to any aggressor that these islands are protected. 🔥 The tower can defend itself with cannons as well as supplies to last up to 40 days of a siege. Normally housing 4 local militia members, it can be reinforced by up to 50 extra soldiers in the case of incursion. It was also manned by the British in both World Wars. 😳 Thanks for watching ❤️ I'll See you Outside | Wideo | Ghawdex.pl
